Kairos Time
Kairos is an ancient Greek word meaning “right time or opportune moment” which differs from clock “Chronos” time. It can also be known as a rhetorical concept that means saying or doing the right thing at the right moment.
Kairos is outside of the timeframe that we live in. It exists in that special moment, not on the tick tock of a clock. God made the sun, moon, and stars for us to measure time by seconds, minutes, days and seasons. He also gave us signs in the heavens which declare His glory. But this is Chronos, not Kairos time.
There is a difference between Chronos vs. Kairos time. The main difference is that Chronos is based on chronological or sequential time. Chronos is linear and can be measured by seconds, minutes, hours, days, and years.
Whereas Kairos focuses more on the quality or opportune moment of action. Kairos focuses on critical moments that define or change the course of history. It is linked with God’s intervention or fulfillment of prophecy. Mark 1:15 “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand…”
In other words, think of a moment in time when everything seemed to just “fall into place” That special moment when everything just feels right. This moment appointed by God can be highly transformative. It may be discovered by the goosebumps you get when you’ve said or done “the right thing at the right time.”
Kairos time breaks into the linear (Chronos) time with moments that are charged with meaning, purpose, and Divine Prescence. It is that moment when your “spidy-sense” heightened spiritual awareness recognizes a significant moment. A “AHA” moment if you will. It is not defined by a clock and is measured by
It can be crucial for decision-making and faithful living in accordance with God’s will.
To recognize Kairos timing, it is important to develop a heightened sense of spiritual awareness and discernment. A Kairos moment can be highly transformative. It is a connection to the real world and straight into God’s perfect timing and purpose for your life. When you center yourself in Yeshua; and follow His lead, you will find yourself in Kairos timing. Take a moment to look back at your life and journal how many times this has happened and journal what impact this made in your life.
